Maxine T. McClellan - Director, Social Media and Business Consulting – Maxine is a Boston native and a former sr. Manager with the Gillette Company and Procter & Gamble. She has over 20 years of success leading global organizations and has worked with some of the leading companies including GE, IBM, HP, Tata and InfoSys. Maxine has conducted business on all continents and has lived in Germany, London, and Buenos Aires. Since 2006 she has been living in Belo Horizonte and doing consulting in the areas of Project Management, Outsourcing, Executive Coaching and Social Media Marketing. Maxine is an alumni of NorthEastern having studied Business Management and Administration. She also holds Certificates from Purdue and George Washington Universities in the areas of Total Quality Management, Business Process Design and International Project Management. She is PMP certified and has Six Sigma training. In 2009 Max started Orbifish with the objective of helping businesses and professionals manage and succeed in today’s global environment. Maxine is also the founder of Minas International a non-profit organization bringing together fluent and native English speakers to network, speak English and conduct community development.
Kimberly Jacob – Director, Communications and Third Sector Consulting Kim is originally from Vancouver, Canada and moved to Belo Horizonte in 2006. With a business degree in Marketing and post-graduate certificates in fundraising and not-for-profit management, Kim has more than 15 years’ experience working in the charitable sector in both Canada and Brazil. Her Canadian portfolio includes: Vancouver Aquarium and Marine Science Centre, Canuck Place Hospice for Children, BC Blind Sports and Recreation Association and Blind Beginnings Society. In BH, she is working with Casa do Jardim, an after-school program for underprivileged children in Nova Lima. Specializing in corporate and foundation grant writing, prospect research, donor relations, marketing and communications for non-profit organizations, Kim brings strong interpersonal, public relations and organizational skills to her role as Director of MinasCare.
Sharon Muraco – Director, Educational Services - Sharon is originally from snowy Buffalo, NY graduated from Canisius College with a BA in Education and Social Studies. With 2 years teaching experience in rural South Carolina under her belt, she continued south to Salvador, Bahia where she taught at the Escola Pan Americana for three years. In her fourth year she worked with Projeto Axe and traveled extensively throughout the Andean Countries and the Galapagos Islands. Eventually she created a photo-journalistic program for American School children to learn about South America. Throughout her 13 years in classrooms in NY, SC, CA, CO, NH and Bahia, Sharon has focused on teacher quality, professional mentoring, reform programs, and building positive relationships within schools. In 2007 she earned a Masters degree in Education/Teacher Leadership & Teacher preparation programs from UNH, Durham. Research for her thesis on Brazilian Public Education was done here in Belo Horizonte, and she currently works at Instituto Hartmann Regueira - an ONG that specializes in management and education focused programs.
